Hi! And welcome to a new Pixelmator tutorial podcast. This week we are going to give a photo a retro or lomo effect. First a tiny, bit of history before we start. The name lomo stands for the Lomo camera made by LOMO PLC, a former optics manufacturer from Saint Petersburg in Russia. These cameras were far from perfect but it is that far from perfect part that now gives them their fame. The images from these cameras were often a little bit blurry and the camera body wasn’t very well sealed, so tiny light leaks could reach the film. On top of that some photographers shooting with the lomo camera cross-processed their films resulting in this special contrast and color look.
Today I’m going to show you how to recreate this effect in Pixelmator.
