Last episode we showed you how you can decompose an image into separate RGB channels. This time we are going to look at how we can decompose an image into CMYK channels. Bur first a little bit about what CMYK is.
CMYK stands for Cyan Magenta Yellow and a Key component which is black. CMYK is quite the opposite of RGB. When you add Red Green and Blue together we get white. But when we add Cyan Magenta and Yellow together we get black. Well... black in theory. We don't really get black by adding these colors together. It is more like a brownish color as we will see later on in this podcast. To compensate for this color difference, we can add an extra black channel or Key channel as it is called officially. Hence the letter K in CMYK.
